- Danish-Ghanaian music at the Embassy
On the 12th of January, the Danish Ambassador hosted a music event at her residence. Fante Fante, a Danish-Ghanaian afro beat-jazz rock fusion band, ensured that the evening was a success.
- New President sworn in
On Saturday 7 January, H.E. President Nana Akufo-Addo and H.E. Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia were sworn in at a magnificient inauguration ceremony at The Independence Square in Accra.
- IMANI's Public Sector Award
On the 22nd December 2016, Ambassador Tove Degnbol delivered the keynote address at IMANI’s 6th Public Sector Awards. The theme for the event was “The Virtues of a Leaner Government in the Face of Fiscal Difficulties”.

- Result of the presidential election
On Friday 9 December, the result of the Presidential Election was declared by the Election Commission. NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo got 53.85% of the votes, while H.E. President John Dramani Mahama from NDC got 44.4%. The five other candidates accounted for a total of 1.75% of the votes. The voter turnout has been 68.6%.
- Successful, peaceful elections!
Yesterday, on the 7th of December, all eyes were on the Ghanaian voters. Peacefully and patiently they stood in line for many hours to cast their votes for the presidential- and parliamentary candidates.
- Business Get-together 24th of November
On Thursday the 24th of November the ambassador and the Trade Council from the Embassy hosted the seventh and the last Business Get-together event in 2016 for Danish business associates in Ghana. The get-together is a recurring event facilitating networking and knowledge sharing between representatives from Danish companies and affiliates in Ghana.

Applicants who wish to travel to Denmark, Sweden, Finland or Iceland before Christmas and just after New Year are kindly asked to deposit their Schengen visa applications at the VFS office in Accra no later than 9 December 2016.

Margaret Owusu grew up in the rural areas around the city of Tema, approx. 25 km from Accra, with hardworking parents and a strong passion for education. Today, her research is improving the lives of the rural population in Ghana.
- Peace Walks across all of Ghana
Civil society in Ghana has mobilised in large numbers to ensure that the 7th December elections will be fair and peaceful. Faith-based organisations, local NGOs, women’s groups, artists, sportspeople, and prominent Ghanaians have stood up to promote peace and solidarity in Ghana. This popular peace movement is not partisan and does not carry political messages – it is a celebration of democracy.
