Dialogue to improve the import clearance process at Tema Port

07.02.2019  12:43
The Embassy hosted the first Anti-Corruption Network meeting of the year to discuss the import clearance process at Tema Port. The meeting was attended by representatives of Danish companies with operations in Ghana and the top management of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA); the Commissioner General, the Customs Commissioner and the Tema Sector Commander.

The Danish Embassy has supported GRA in improving the customs clearance process for a number of years, and even though there are still some challenges when it comes to the customer clearance process we were glad to see that both GRA and Danish companies agreed that significant improvements have been made since the implementation of the paperless port. We look forward to supporting the on-going dialogue between Danish companies and GRA and to seeing how this can help improve the import clearance process at Tema Port
