On 2 June 2016 the Danish Parliament has passed a bill to repeal the Green Card Scheme and has also passed a bill introducing changes to the Pay Limit Scheme. Both bills will come into effect as of 10 June 2016.
The Green Card Scheme is repealed with effect from 10 June 2016. Applications for a residence permit under the Green Card Scheme submitted before 10 June 2016 will be processed.
Accompanying family members to Green Card holders can also apply for a residence permit and extension of their residence permit. This applies whether the accompanying family member submits the application before or after 10 June 2016.
The minimum amount of the Pay Limit Scheme has been increased from DKK 375,000 to DKK 400,000 with effect from 10 June 2016. This applies for applications submitted from 10 June 2016 onwards. The minimum amount will be adjusted each year on 1 January.
