For the second year in a row, the Danida supported Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund has won the prestigious award for the “Not for Profit Making Organization of the Year” for 2011 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
The award is in recognition of the “Fund’s excellence in strategic marketing in the year 2011”. The ceremony took place at the 23rd Annual CIMG awards ceremony that was organised in the State House Banquet Hall, on Saturday, 8th September, 2012.
The Award is highly valued because of the visibility it gives to the winners due to an extensive selection process which is undertaken by the Governing Council of CIMG in cooperation with other public and private stakeholders. Today there are over 25 categories of awards ranging from individual marketing specialists to new products and innovative marketing schemes. Winning such an award demonstrates that the recipient provides superior marketing systems that complement their business strategies.
The BUSAC Fund is a component of the Danida-funded Support for Private Sector Development Programme Phase II whose role is to strengthen the advocacy capacity of private sector organizations that seek to redress policies and regulatory frameworks that hinders their economic growth. This is intended to create a vibrant business environment that leads to increased revenue and job creation and thus overall economic growth.
The BUSAC Fund, in receiving this award, brings to focus its strategic marketing skills and positive impact on the Ghanaian economy. It was noted in the ceremony that the inception of BUSAC Fund in 2004 has indeed contributed to the positive growth of the economy and it goal to attain middle-income status in the near future.
