The Embassy recommends that you apply as early as possible but not more than 3 months before departure time.
You may expect a decision within 15 days, however should the Embassy decide to forward your application to the Immigration Authority in the country you have applied (you will be informed if the Embassy decides to do so), the following amount of days can be expected before you receive a decision;
In matters of urgency special procedures apply for diplomats from missions based in Ghana, spouses of Danish nationals, etc.
The applicant applies to the country, which is the main destination of the trip. If a number of Schengen countries are to be visited, application should be submitted to the country where the applicant will spend most time.
The Embassy of Denmark, Accra handles applications for visas to: Denmark (Faeroe Islands and Greenland), Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Applications for visa to these countries should be lodged at the Visa Facilitation Centre (VFS) at Pvt. Ltd., Hse No. F298/5, Norla Link, North Labone Estate, Accra.
Please note that the Embassy of Denmark is unable to answer any applications status inquiries via mail or by phone due to Danish National law.
As for visas to other Schengen countries which are not represented in Accra please refer below:
A Schengen-visa can only be issued for a total of 90 days; should you need to stay in Denmark for a longer period, you must apply for a residence permit . A Schengen visa does not allow the applicant to take up employment, establish a business, trade or profession.
