VFS Global has been contracted as an external neutral service provider to receive applications for visas and residence permits on behalf of the Embassy of Denmark in Accra. VFS has visa application centers in Accra and Abidjan.
VFS receives applications and supporting documents over the counter, and reviews them for completeness and validity, based on check lists supplied by the Embassy. Biometric data (picture and fingerprints) is also obtained by VFS. VFS may counsel applicants whose applications are invalid for any reason and require further documentation, but will never reject an application if applicant insists on proceeding despite the application being incomplete; in such a situation, VFS Global would annotate the checklist with a remark that the applicant has chosen to proceed.
In Accra the applications normally reaches the Embassy the day after they were submitted to VFS. Applications submitted to VFS on Fridays will normally reach the Embassy on the coming Monday.
From Abidjan, applications and supporting documents will be securely transferred to the Embassy in Accra once a week. In cases where an interview is required, they will be carried out by the Embassy’s visa officers via video-link to the centre in Abidjan.
Decisions and the applicant’s documents will be securely returned for collection from VFS in Accra or Abidjan. For applicants who do not wish to pick up the decision and documents from, VFS can arrange courier services at a fee.
The applicant must pay a fee to VFS. For the processing of the applications, the Embassy charges a fee, which must also be paid through VFS at the time of submitting the application.
