Visa - short stay

Residents of Ghana, Liberia, Guinea (Conakry), Sierra Leone, Togo, and Cote d'Ivoire applying for a visa should submit the application to VFS, the external service provider contracted by the Embassy of Denmark, in Accra or Abidjan. The Embassy of Denmark in Accra will process the applications.

To apply for a visa (short stay) for Denmark or Iceland;

  • Residents of Ghana should submit applications in Accra through VFS, the external service provider contracted by the Embassy of Denmark.
  • Residents of Liberia, Guinea (Conakry), Sierra Leone, Togo, and Cote d'Ivoire should submit applications in Accra or Abidjan through VFS, the external service provider contracted by the Embassy of Denmark.
  • Residents of other countries should consult the nearest Danish diplomatic mission. Normally applicants must submit applications in their country of residence, but it is possible under certain circumstances to submit in another country than the applicant’s country of residence.

To apply for a visa (short stay) for Finland or Sweden;

  • Residents of Ghana should submit applications in Accra through VFS, the external service provider contracted by the Embassy of Denmark. The Embassy will process such applications and make a decision on behalf of these countries.
  • Residents of other countries should consult the nearest diplomatic mission of the country that is the main destination of their trip. Both Finland and Sweden currently [June 2016] has an embassy in Abuja that may advise.

To apply for a visa (short stay) for other Schengen States;

  • Applicants should consult a diplomatic mission of the country that is the main destination of their trip.

If more than one Schengen country are to be visited, the visa application should be submitted to a diplomatic mission representing the country where most time during the visit will be spend or where the main purpose of the visit is.
