Ghana Statistical Service brings out improved consumer price index

02.10.2019  10:49

Strategic Sector Cooperation: Ghana Statistical Service has just published their year-on-year overview of the consumer price index for August 2019.

This is one of the first outcomes of the Strategic Sector Cooperation between Ghana Statistical Service and Statistics Denmark. One major change in this series is the adaption to the 2018 classification of individual consumption, which is an UN-standard for classification of statistics.

The reclassification enhances a better reflection of the inflation rate as it takes into consideration a wider range of goods or items. To the Ghanaian consumers it means they can see the development in the price levels of both food and non-food items, and base their decision-making on proper foundation.
