    In 2014, Denmark received 14,792 asylum seekers (granted 6,104 permits for asylum). Since Sunday, September 6, 2015 Denmark has admitted more than 5,000 refugees at the Danish border. In 2014, Denmark was the fifth largest recipient of asylum seekers in the EU per capita and the second largest recipient of Syrian asylum seekers in the EU per capita.

  • The Danish Ambassador Visits Lavender Hill Project

    On Monday 18th of August, the Danish Ambassador, H.E. Tove Degnbol, visited the Lavender Hill in Accra – a human sludge dumping site - to see at first hand the on-going pilot project. The treatment plant at Lavender Hill has now been in operation for more than 12 months and is successfully cleaning the otherwise untreated sewage. The Ambassador was welcomed by the Major of Accra (Accra Metropolitan Assembly), Hon Alfred Okoe Vanderpuye, Mr. Fredrik Sunesson, founder of Slamson Ghana Ltd, and the site managers.
