Ambassador's greeting

I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of Denmark in Accra.

Ghana is an exciting country which over the last decades has experienced a significant economic growth; many interesting things are happening here.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations over 60 years ago, Ghana and Denmark have enjoyed a very close friendship and cooperation. In particular, we have had decades of strong and successful development cooperation. In 2020, the Embassy completed a transformation from aid to trade meaning that in the future, the Embassy will no longer undertake traditional development aid programmes. That doesn’t mean less Danish involvement in Ghana – just different.

Today, Ghana remains an important partner country for Denmark, and the main task for the Embassy in the years to come will be to further strengthen our partnership and the bilateral relations within both the public and the private sectors. The Embassy, of which the Trade Council is an integrated part, seeks to promote the trade relations between the two countries by helping Danish companies who want to invest in Ghana. In addition, we have established Strategic Sector Cooperation in the areas of water, statistics and maritime focused on exchange of knowledge and competencies between relevant agencies and authorities from both countries.

On our website you find information about the above mentioned activities. You will also find pages concerning travel and residence in both Denmark and Ghana, as well as country facts and information about Ghana.

To stay updated, we suggest you follow us on FacebookTwitter and LinkedIn

We hope you find the website helpful.
