Denmark is aiming at a seat on the un security council 2025-2026
Denmark is a candidate for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the period 2025-2026. The campaign was launched in New York on 22 September 2022 during the opening of the 77th UN General Assembly. The campaign will run until June 2024, when elections are held in the UN General Assembly. So far, the race is uncontested, with Denmark and Greece vying for the two seats available to the group of Western and Other States (WEOG). Equality Security Action is the slogan for #DK4UNSC candidature.

Denmark is committed to global development and #equality. We are among a handful of countries living up to the UN target of delivering 0.7 per cent of Gross National Income (GNI) as Official Development Assistant (ODA). We have done so consistently for more than 40 years.
